Summary of Lone Worker Protection Options - Android

Enable Phone Call on Alert

NOTE: You need a device with a SIM card with a voice plan to use this option.

This option enables an automatic call to a phone number whenever any of the selected alerts are triggered.

2023-gt-en-mpost-user_management-user_management-setting_lone_worker (12).png

When setting up a Loan Worker Protection, Phone numbers to call (use comma as separator), you will see a proviso that says:

"Please note that if the software is installed through the Google PlayStore, and due to Google restrictions on phone features, m-Post will dial the phone number, but the user must push the call button to initiate the call. The call won't be initiated automatically. If you want to override this and have the phone automatically call the number without user interaction, please contact Trackforce's Support team to use an alternate installation method. Devices purchased or leased directly from Trackforce since 01/01/2019 are set up with the alternate method and thus can call automatically."

NOTE: When entering multiple phone numbers, follow the same phone number format used for User Management: type in the area code and phone number without spaces.

i.e., The phone number (123) 555-1234 should be entered as 1235551234

Enable Tilt Detection

This allows for setting an alert based on an inactivity period coupled with a device angle to trigger an alarm.

  • 0 degrees – represents an upward vertical position - standing.
  • 90 degrees – represents a horizontal position - lying.
  • 180 degrees - represents a downwards vertical position - upside-down.

NOTE: Once this alarm is triggered, the user will have 7 seconds to cancel the alert on the device before it is posted on the GuardTek portal and before calls or notifications are triggered if they were set up.

Enable Man Down Detection

This allows setting an inactivity time whereby if the device shows no movement after a set period, it will trigger an alarm.

NOTE: Once this alarm is triggered, the user will have 7 seconds to cancel the alert on the device before it is posted on the GuardTek portal and before calls or notifications are triggered if they were set up.

Enable Impact Detection

This triggers an alarm if the device is impacted.

NOTE: Once this alarm is triggered, the user will have 7 seconds to cancel the alert on the device before it is posted on the GuardTek portal and before calls or notifications are triggered if they were set up.

Enable True Fall Detection

This triggers an alarm if the device falls over a specified height.

Some users have asked if impacts can be tracked without the audio alarm. However, this is, first and foremost, a safety feature.

If LWP is being used to track device damage, the user could mute the phone.

It is also important to note that sensitivity varies by device and manufacturer. For example, it has been noted that some Samsung devices have had the impact alarm go off simply from the device moving against a leg in a user's pocket.

NOTE: Once this alarm is triggered, the user will have 7 seconds to cancel the alert on the device before it is posted on the GuardTek portal and before calls or notifications are triggered if they were set up.

Enable Timer-Based Detection

This enables a security officer who is entering a danger zone to activate a timer set in countdown mode that triggers an alarm on the GuardTek Portal and calls or notifications if the countdown reaches zero.

Loss of Device Connection When Assigned

This triggers an alarm on the GuardTek Portal and calls or notifications if these are activated once the device loses connection with the internet.

NOTE:  The device still records information but posts it in real-time on the GuardTek portal once the connection is re-established.

Once this alarm is triggered, the user will have 7 seconds to cancel the alert on the device before it is posted on the GuardTek portal and before calls or notifications are triggered if they were set up.
