Dashboard - Adding a Container, Widget and New Page

In this article we will review what a Container and Widget are and go over how to add a Container and a Widget.

 

How to Add a Container

To add a Container:

1. Log onto your Guardtek web portal with Supervisor credentials.

2. On the home page click on the Dashboard icon.

3.  On the Dashboard View page click the green circle with the white + (2) at the bottom right hand corner of the page.

NOTE: If you are logging onto the Dashboard for the 1st time it will be a blank page with only a prompt to Add Widget to get started and a 2nd green circle with the white + (1) in a Container at the top left hand corner of the Dashboard View page. (see How to Add a Widget)

4. Click on + Create A Container

5.  Click on the Container Title field and name your Container and select your Container Styles - PageIcon (optional) and Color Theme.

6. Click the green NEXT button at the bottom right hand corner of the pop-up window.

7. In the Create A Container pop-up window use the drop down fields to select a Customer(s), Date and Time Zone.

8. Click the green DONE button at the bottom of the pop-up window. 

You have now created a new Container, however, the Container does not have a Widget set up yet. 

 

 

How to Add a Widget

If you are logging onto the Dashboard for the 1st time it will be a blank page with only a prompt to Add Widget to get started and a green circle with a white +.

After you have added a Container you will now need to add a Widget.  Click on the green circle with a white + in the Container.

Using either method will open a 5 step process for adding a Widget.

 

Step 1. SELECT WIDGET TYPE options you would like to see displayed on your Dashboard (2).

NOTE: A 5 step progress bar will track which step you are on in creating a widget. If you choose the SELECT PREDEFINED WIDGET you will only have a 2 step progress bar.

Once you have clicked on your selection click the green NEXT button at the bottom right hand corner of the window.

NOTE: Selecting the Predefined Widget is for Activity only.  You cannot sort Tour or Shift data with the Predefined Widget.  

 

Step 2. SELECT YOUR DATA

Use the drop-down buttons to access your Report Type options.

Select the desired Report Type option between Activity, Tour or Shift

NOTE: Mandatory fields are indicated with a red asterisk *. 

Once all the desired and mandatory fields have been filled the NEXT and DONE buttons will change from gray to green. 

If Activity was selected click the green DONE button at the bottom right hand corner of the window.

If the Widget is set up with the report type of Tour or Shift and no other filters will be applied click the green DONE button at the bottom right hand corner of the window.

There are additional sorting filters available for Tour and Shift report types only. 

If you want to add additional filters to the Widget for Tour or Shift report type click the green NEXT button just to the left of the DONE button at the bottom right hand corner of the window.

 

Step 3. FILTER BY

Once the additional filters have been added click the green DONE button at the bottom right hand corner of the window.

 

 

Dashboard Editing Options

 

There are several option to edit your dashboard.

The first editing options are at the top right hand corner of the Dashboard View page:

Clicking on the 3 vertical dots will open the following editing options:

Rename page.  When you add a page the default name of the page will Dashboard View.  When you have multiple pages clicking the pencil icon Rename page option gives you the ability to change the page name to something more descriptive.  For example, some name the pages for the content such as Activity, Tours or Shifts to view specific data on a specific page.

NOTE: If you do not name the Dashboard View page it will appear as untitled for editing purposes.

Export to PDF.  If you need to download the data from a specific page click the Adobe acrobat icon Export to PDF option in the drop-down menu.  This will download a PDF to your PC.

Send by email.  To email the the Dashboard View data click the envelope icon Send by email drop-down option.  A pop-up window will allow you to type in a recipients email address or if yo leave the email address field blank it will automatically email it to you.

Once a recipient has been chosen click the green SEND button.

Reorder pages.  Clicking the menu icon Reorder pages drop-down option allows you to choose the viewing order of the Dashboard view pages when you have created multiple pages.

In the Reorder pages pop-up window click, grab and drag a page to the desired position:

Once the Dashboard View pages are in the desired order click the green SAVE button.

Delete page.  If a Dashboard View page needs to be removed click on the trashcan icon Delete page in the drop-down options.  You will be given a warning to verify you want to delete the page.

If Delete page was selected in error click the gray CANCEL button or if the page is ready to be deleted click the red-orange DELETE button.

Window view.

Clicking on the green page expand icon in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard View page will open the Dashboard View to a full screen and change the option to a collapse icon.

To restore the Dashboard View page to a window view on the Guardtek web portal click the green collapse icon in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard View page.

 

 

How to Add a New Dashboard View Page

To add a new Dashboard View page:

1. Log onto your Guardtek web portal with Supervisor credentials.

2. On the home page click on the Dashboard icon.

3.  On the Dashboard View page click the green circle with the white + at the bottom right hand corner of the page.

4. Click the + Add a new page pop-up option.

5. You will now have a new page that you can rename and create Containers and Widgets on.

6.  The green forward > and back < icons as well as the Jump To button will now be live.  

Clicking the Jump To button will pop-up a list of all Pages.  Click on the page number or name that you would like to jump to.

NOTE: The Jump To button is a short-cut feature designed for use when you have 3 or more Dashboard View pages set up.
