4. Create Attributes

The fourth recommended step in the CASHI configuration order, creating Attributes will make them available for the steps that follow.

The Attributes sub-tab under the Settings tab lets you list multiple characteristics and properties needed to later define distinct Equipment Types.
These can be identifiable characteristics (weight, color, class, brand, model, …) or classification labels (Team A, R&D department, weekend, …). The choice is yours!

Accessing the Attributes List

1. Go to the Equipment Inspections page in the Activities menu.

2. Make sure you are on the correct Site using the dropdown in the top right corner. Then go to the last Settings tab and select the Attributes sub-tab.

3. You will typically already see at least one Attribute, created during the tutorial (see this article).

Edit an Existing Attribute

1. Simply click on the row of the Attribute you want to modify.

2. This displays the two fields — Name and Description (optional) — for direct editing.

3. Once your changes are made, click Save to close the panel.

Add an Attribute

1. Click the blue + New Attribute button in the top right corner.

2. A panel appears with a Name field and an optional Description field.

3. Fill in these fields to enter your new Attribute, then click Save. The Attribute joins the others in the list.

Delete an Attribute

1. Check the box(es) on the far left of the Attribute row(s) you want to delete, then click the Trash icon on the right in the blue banner that appears.

2. Note: if this Attribute is already linked to an Item Type, deleting it will also remove it from all existing Types and Items.

3. Confirm your choice to permanently delete the Attribute.

Next step: Equipment Types (here).
