1. Create Zones and Levels to import Maps

The first recommended step in the CASHI configuration order, creating your Zones and Levels first will allow you to configure everything else afterward without having to come back to this step.

The Zones sub-tab under the Settings tab lets you define the structure and hierarchy of your sites in order to import maps for your Zones. This will then allow you to locate each Item on its corresponding map. The system supports up to 5 Levels containing your Zones (e.g., Country > City > Site > Building > Floor, or Site > Building > Area > Floor > Department).

Accessing Levels and Zones

1. Go to the Equipment Inspections page in the Activities menu.

2. Make sure you are on the correct Site using the dropdown in the top right corner. Then go to the last Settings tab and select the Zones sub-tab.

3. You will typically land on an existing configuration created during the tutorial (see this article). You will see one or more Levels displayed as drawer-style containers from left to right (here: Site and then Floor — though a single Level may be sufficient for your needs).

Modifying the Structure (Levels)

Rename a Level

1. Click the 3 vertical dots to the right of the Level name you want to update, then select Rename a Level.

2. A panel lets you rename the Level — click Save to close it.

Add a Level

1. Click the blue + Add a Level button in the top right corner of the tab.

2. The new Level will be added to the right (at the end) of the existing Levels. Name it and click Save.

Delete a Level

1. Click the 3 vertical dots to the right of the last Level (only the last Level can be deleted, to preserve the structure of your Zones), then select Delete a Level.

Note: if an Item has already been located on a map within a Level, deletion will not be possible.

Modifying Zones

Edit an existing Zone

1. Click on the name of the Zone you want to update. If it is nested within a sub-Zone, expand your structure to reach it.

2. The selected Zone will appear below the current panel. Click the blue Edit Zone button on the right.

3. Use the text field to rename the Zone, the Upload PDF button in the grey area below to import a floor plan in PDF format, or the red Delete Map button in the top right corner to remove the current file (to replace or delete it).

4. Don't forget to click Save to confirm your changes.

Add a Zone

1. Hover over the Level in which you want to add a Zone to display the Add a Zone button at the bottom.

2. Name the Zone and click Upload PDF in the centre of the grey area to add a floor plan in PDF format. This is not required if the Zone is simply a structural step — only the last Zone needs to contain a map.

3. Click Save to finish. Any newly added Zone always appears at the top of the list.

Delete a Zone

1. Click on the name of the Zone you want to delete. If it is nested within a sub-Zone, expand your structure to reach it.

2. The selected Zone will appear below the current panel. Click the blue Edit Zone button on the right.

3. Click the red Delete Zone button in the bottom left corner to permanently delete the Zone after a confirmation screen. Note: if an Item has already been located in this Zone, the system will not allow deletion — you will need to move the Item to another Zone or delete it as well.
