How to Setup up a Push-to-Talk (PTT) Channel
To setup up a push-to-talk (PTT) channel:
1. Log onto your GuardTek web page as a Supervisor.
2. Hover over the Settings module and click on Account Settings.
3. Click on the Push-to-talk module.
4. Click on the green ADD CHANNEL button.
5. Name the channel and then click the green disk save icon in the far right hand column.
6. A pop up box will let you know you saved the channel successfully.
How to Manage a Supervisory Channel
To manage a supervisory channel:
1. Log onto your GuardTek web page as a Supervisor.
2. Hover over the Settings module and click on Account Settings.
3. Click on the Push-to-talk module.
4. Find the the channel you want to manage by using the Search channels field or scrolling down the page in alpha numeric order.
5. Click on the green pencil edit icon. This will give you the option to make the channel a Supervisory Channel.
6. Clicking the Supervisory Channel checkbox will open a section that allows you to Add channels to your supervisory channel.
7. Add the channels you wish to add and then click the green disk Save icon.
How to Assign Channel Access
To assign channel access:
1. Log onto your GuardTek web page as a Supervisor.
2. Hover over the Settings module and click on Account Settings.
3. Click on the Push-to-talk module.
4. Find the the channel you want to assign access to by using the Search channels field or scrolling down the page in alpha numeric order.
5. Click on the green padlock icon of the channel you want to assign access to.
6. In the All Supervisors Channel Access pop-up box you will have 3 options:
Option 1 - Channel access based on both user types and physical locations.
Option 2 - Checking the Assign channel access to specific user types will open a field with a drop down menu to choose a specific user type.
Option 3 - Checking the Assign channel access based on physical locations checkbox will open a field with a drop down menu to choose a specific location.
7. Once the channel access has been assign click the green CLOSE button at the bottom of the window.
How to Setup a User With Push-to-Talk Preemption
To set up a user with push-to-talk preemption:
1. Log onto your GuardTek web page as a Supervisor.
2. Hover over the Settings module and click on Users.
3. Click on the green pencil edit icon in the Action column of the User you want to be able to use the push-to-talk feature with.
NOTE: The Users will appear in alphabetical order by last name. For long lists and multiple pages of users, you can use the search field to type in the Last, First or Username to find the User you want faster.
4. In the User pop-up box scroll to the bottom of the General Information section and click the Push to talk channel preemption checkbox:
5. Click the green Update box at the bottom right hand corner of the User pop-up box.
